Top Players
Jerry Davis, QB, 6-1, 200, Fresno ( Edison) CA – Area player-of-the year award winner after throwing for over 2,100 yards and 29 TDs as a senior. A true dual threat QB, Davis drew serious recruiting interest from Arizona State.

Joel Wilson, DT, 6-3, 280, Garland TX – Received several offers from Sun Belt schools; played at the highest level of Texas high school football
Sleepers
Gokhan Ozkan, OL, 6-7, 300, Staten Island (Bishop Ford) NY – Massive line prospect who earned 2 nd team all-state honors.
Scott Pettigrew, LB, 6-2, 210, Thompson's Station ( Independence) TN – Solid LB prospect who can play ILB or OLB; had reported offers from Arkansas State and several I-AA programs.

Final Analysis
UB needed more defensive help at LB and the DL and they signed it. It’s doubtful that all eight prospects will end up at LB but all of them bring solid athleticism and speed to the program. What jumps out is the size of the DTs that Coach Gill is bringing in – obviously he covets big and disruptive players to plug the interior defensive line and he found it with Richie Smith and Joel Wilson. Keep an eye on QB Jerry Davis – he may play early in his career. Overall this class rates as AVERAGE compared to other MAC programs mostly due to the lack of BCS offers. Make no mistake though, there are some solid football players in this class that will help push UB upward and forward in the MAC east over the next few years.
