2008 MAC Football Recruiting Report Overview:

Welcome to the tenth annual MAC Recruiting Report by VanDelay Sports. Each coaching staff was delighted to have added several quality players that should help their program this fall and beyond.

As I do every year, please note that the data you are about to review is a compilation of several published sources. These sources include over one dozen recruiting "guru" publications; newspaper articles, internet sources, personal observations of some players, and information provided by each school’s sports information departments.

Be cognizant of:

• These young men are anywhere from 17 to 22 years old. Published rankings are quite subjective - many things can happen to a young man in his college-playing career like injuries, academic problems, personal issues, etc. Ultimately, there is no perfect way to accurately assess their playing futures.
• There are often late bloomers and walk-on’s that rarely show up on the recruiting radar screens only to become all-conference players and sometimes even NFL players. The only way to know how to properly assess a recruiting class is to look at them after four or five years.
• The "MAC Freshman of the Year Award" winner has been listed in my Top-25/30 Ranking six of the nine years doing this analysis.

About the 2008 MAC Football Recruiting Analysis

There has been a slight change in format as you see when you read about your favorite MAC school below. No longer am I ranking from top to bottom since there are marginal differences in the classes for the middle section below. The new format identifies the top three MAC classes, followed by an alpha order listing of the VERY GOOD tier, followed by another alpha order listing for the AVERAGE tier.

Note: If you see any typing and/or spelling errors, I sincerely apologize in advance. It’s very difficult to read about, view video when available, and report on over 300 new MAC players - but I certainly did my best.
