Quarterbacks

Running Backs
Hightower rushed for over 1,500 yards and 16 TDs as a senior earning honorable mention all-state honors. He is listed within Ohio’s top-150 prospects and excelled on both sides of the ball.
Receivers
The largest group of prospects lies within the WR and TE area for this class. McCrae is the steal of this Bobcat class as he earned all-state honors in Pennsylvania and is rated as a top-35 prospect in the state. He picked Ohio over several other offers, including Indiana and WVU. Price earned all area and all-district honors from the Columbus area, picked OU over Akron and Miami (OH). Garrett comes to Athens after playing at Fork Union Military academy last year. Nwokocha totaled over 1,600 yards receiving during his JUCO career with 14 TDs. Mercer is projected as a WR after concentrating on basketball during his high school career. Mooney played two seasons at New Mexico State before sitting out after transferring last season. He has two years of eligibility left and earned 2nd team freshman All-American honors in 2004. Carr is a top-75 prospect in Ohio and excelled at both DE and TE. Entering the Ohio program he initially projects as a TE.
Offensive Line
Black is an all-state player who ranks as a top-60 prospect in Ohio. D’Aguanno is an all-state performer from New York state who prepped in Connecticut and is a top-20 rated player in New England. Bunner is from Frank Solich’s former stomping ground of Nebraska, earned all-state honors as a senior and is rated a top-10 prospect in that state.
Defensive Line
Williamson is a pure NG who was a first team all-state performer as a senior. Goff is a JUCO transfer suited for DE; picked Ohio over offers from UNLV, Nevada and New Mexico. Hodge is a highly rated prep school prospect from the Hargrave Military Academy who picked Ohio over Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall. Luchsinger earned the district POY award along with all-state honors, is rated a top-60 prospect in Ohio by several services. Reese earned all-city and all-district honors from the Toledo area.
Linebackers
Hubbard is a tremendous LB/DE prospect who is rated as the #19 prep school prospect in the country by one service; had reported offers from Minnesota, South Florida and TCU. Gatling is a OLB prospect who earned all-region honors in North Carolina.
Defensive Backs
Posey is a true CB prospect who earned all-district honors from the Cincinnati area. Fletcher is an honorable mention all-state performer who excelled at both WR and free safety. He could play on either side of the ball.
Specialists
No player marked as specialist is listed within this class.
Final Analysis
Solich worked his magic to sign some very impressive defensive players, especially along the defensive line. WR Terrance McCrae from the Pittsburgh area is the biggest prize of this class, especially for a program not known for their wide open passing game. The Bobcats found players at almost every area but did not sign any QB or kicking specialist. The prep school and JUCO players should contribute right away to assist OU in building immediate depth. Overall this class rates as EXCELLENT compared to other MAC programs this year but when comparing it to the previous four Ohio recruiting classes, it rates as outstanding.
