Overview
Welcome to the eighth annual MAC Recruiting Report by VanDelay Sports. This is by far the best group of incoming prospects this publication has witnessed entering MAC football programs. Each team brought in several prospects that had other attractive offers from BCS schools but chose to continue their football careers in the Mid-American Conference. Every team did well at addressing immediate needs and building overall depth.
The data you are about to review is a compilation of several published sources. These sources include nearly a dozen recruiting “guru” publications; newspaper articles; Internet sources; personal observations of some players; and information provided by each school’s sports information departments.
Please note:
These young men are anywhere from 17 to 21 years old. Published rankings are quite subjective - many things can happen to a young man in his college-playing career like injuries, academic problems, personal issues, etc. Ultimately, there is no perfect way to accurately assess their playing futures.
There are often late bloomers and “walk-on’s” that rarely show up on the recruiting radar screens only to become all-conference players and sometimes even NFL players. The only way to know how to properly assess a recruiting class is to look at them after four or five years.
The "MAC Freshman of the Year Award" winner has been listed in my Top-25 Overall Players listed below the past four seasons straight. Last year is was QB Tim Hiller from Western Michigan; my #8 rated player.
Read and enjoy the most complete and in-depth MAC football recruiting report anywhere.
