SportsTime Ohio to Air MAC Football Championship Preview Show
STO To Air Northern Illinois vs. Miami Championship Preview on Tue., Nov. 30 at 6:30 pm
Cleveland, Ohio –SportsTime Ohio will debut the MAC Football Championship Preview show on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 pm ET. As the MAC Regional Television partner, SportsTime Ohio will analyze the 2010 Marathon MAC Football Championship game between West Division Champion Northern Illinois and the East Division Champion Miami on Friday, Dec. 3 at 7 pm ET in Detroit’s Ford Field.
Northern Illinois won the West Division and went undefeated (8-0) in conference play and finished the regular season with a 10-2 overall record. Northern Illinois is currently ranked No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 24 in the Associated Press Poll. The Huskies feature junior quarterback Chandler Harnish, who ranks 18th in the nation in quarterback efficiency and running back Chad Spann, who ranks 17 in the nation in rushing (103.3 ypg) and seventh in scoring (20 touchdowns).
Miami won the East Division with a 7-1 conference record and finished the regular season with an 8-4 overall record. The RedHawks Cinderella season continues as America’s most improved college football team. Last year Miami finished 1-11 and this year’s 8-4 record marks a seven win improvement from consecutive years, the best in college football.

This is the first year of a three year partnership for SportsTime Ohio as the regional television partner of the MAC. The agreement has already witnessed an increased number of televised football and men’s and women’s basketball games for the conference. In the first year of the agreement, STO televised seven MAC football games and will broadcast 34 basketball games, which will represent a 60% increase in the number of basketball games televised from the previous year.
This regional television deal provides the MAC clearance throughout the entire state of Ohio, including the Cincinnati/Dayton and Southern Ohio region, in addition to a continued regional presence throughout the Midwest including Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Western New York.
Ancillary MAC programming this year will include a 2010 MAC Football Preview Show, 2010 Marathon MAC Football Championship Preview show, 2010-11 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Preview Show and live remotes throughout the 2011 FirstEnergy MAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Conference Tournaments at Quicken Loans Arena. Throughout the year, STO will also air MAC football and basketball coaches shows.
