2008 MAC Football Coaching ChangesLack of on-field results leads to turnover in MAC football coaches First it was Tom Amstutz announcing on November 3rd that he would step down at season's end from the head coaching position at Toledo. Then Eastern Michigan announced on November 24th that Jeff Genyk was being relieved of his duties in charge of EMU football. While speculation was that Shane Montgomery was on the bubble at Miami, the first day after the conclusion of the 2008 MAC football season saw the end of Montgomery's time at Miami as well as a surprising move. Bowling Green announced that head coach Gregg Brandon will not return in 2009. Apparently a 44-30 record in 6 years with 3 bowl appearances is not good enough in the competitive Mid-American Conference.
