The MAC Basketball Tournament is held at the conclusion of each MAC basketball season with the winner getting an automatic big to the NCAA Tournament. Since 2000, the MAC Basketball Tournament has been held at Quicken Loans Arena, formerly Gund Arena, in Cleveland, Ohio. Past MAC Tournament Champions include the 2002 Kent State Golden Flashes who advanced into the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament and the 1999 Miami RedHawks who went on to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 were the runners-up to Kent State in the 1999 MAC Tournament. In past seasons first round games were played on the campus of the higher-seeded teams, but 2007 was be the first time since 1994 that first round games will be played at a neutral site.
