#1 - Ohio (3)

10-2
4-0

RPI #105 - Four MAC wins against RPI #150+ teams show the Bobcats have not really been tested in MAC play. That changes as Ohio travels to NIU and Toledo this week. The Bobcats remaining schedule has them facing 11 teams ranked #135 in the RPI or better in their final 14 MAC games.

#2 - Akron

11-3
4-0

3

33

RPI #51 - Seven wins in their last eight games with wins over both Toledo and NIU shows that the Zips will likely be fighting for the #1 spot in our rankings all season long.

#3 - Miami

8-5
5-0

4

RPI #98 - The RedHawks have been quite impressive to start the season. It seems the tough OOC schedule did what Charlie was hoping it would do; cause the RedHawks to grow up and be ready for MAC play.

#4 - Buffalo

12-3
2-2

2

RPI #72 - The Bulls have to prove they can win on the road before they can be considered a contender in the East.

#5 - Northern Illinois

8-5
3-2

24

RPI #65 - It's tough to place the Huskies in the #5 spot, but we'll know for sure if the Huskies belong in the #5 spot or higher in next week's Power Rankings as they host both Ohio and Kent this week in DeKalb.

#6 - Kent State

10-5
4-0

6

23

RPI #135 - The Flashes do it again . . . they were looking like they were going to have a classic off-year in OOC, but Jim Christian has proved that he knew what he was doing all along, evaluating lineups, and getting ready for MAC play. Would anybody be surprised if they ran off yet another 20-winner this season?

#7 - Toledo

8-5
1-4

7

18

RPI #119 - A 1-4 start in conference play is a huge roadblock in the Rockets chances at a MAC West title. This week could be a huge week for both Toledo and NIU as both face two top MAC East opponents.

#8 - Ball State

4-8
0-4

8

14

RPI #173 - They might be 0-4, but the schedule has been brutal for the Cardinals. If they can overcome the mental game due to the injuries and losses, Tim Buckley's squad will be dangerous in the coming weeks.

#9 - Bowling Green

6-8
2-2

10

12

RPI #264 - The Falcons followed up last weeks romp at the hands of WMU with a one point loss against Northern Illinois and a solid victory against Toledo. They'll need that momentum for this weeks road trip to Ypsilanti and Munice.

#10 - Western Michigan

4-10
1-3

9

10

RPI #212 - The Broncos tacked on a couple more losses this week, but solice can be found in the fact that they are the best MAC school in Michigan.

#11 - Eastern Michigan

3-9
0-4

11

6

RPI #276 - It was not expected to be easy for Charles Ramsey when he took over at EMU, but other than Bowler they have an incredibly young team. And it hasn't been easy for the Eagles, but at least his Eagles generally keep it close.

#12 - Central Michigan

2-11
0-4

12

3

RPI #318 - The Chippewas moved up 2 spots in the RPI for the second straight week. At this current pace CMU should break the RPI top 100 around late February of 2008.
